Jobs for Literature Circles- You are to rotate a job each day in your group. It is your group's job to decide the jobs and your daily reading. I will monitor each group by conferring with 1-2 groups each day as well as check your daily homework (jobs) that should all be in your reader's notebook (green folder). Do not get behind or you will have to work independently :( instead of with your group.

Themer/Settinger:
Themer- You are to write about the message that the author is trying to convey.
Is it a story of friendship? Saving the earth? Helping your community?
All of our books deal with the theme of biodiversity. Your job is to explain why? How this unveils in the story? How does the author reveal this little by little? Does the setting, where it takes place help explain the theme? Is it character’s motivation?
Settinger: Your job is to illustrate the reading/coloring…describing with a page #. Does the setting help reveal the theme?
Inferencer: You can make inferences, before, during, or at the end of the chapter. What inferences can you make about the characters' actions or the events that will unfold. Use the evidence from the current or prior chapter to explain your reasoning.
Summarizer: Summarizes the reading. You can write about characters'and their motivation(s), conflict (character vs. character, character vs. society, character vs. nature) or you can summarize character’s points of view.
Cause/Effecter: Discuss three cause/effects that occurred and use evidence from text (page numbers).
